Woven metal fabric is created by weaving yarn across a wire warp. The form is shaped by hand from individual pieces of woven metal, then assembled and stitched together with wire. The sculpture is embellished with novelty yarn.
This sculpture is part of a coral reef installation, which brings attention to the plight of our global coral reefs as an advocacy tool. The artist has interpreted coral forms as expressive sculptures.
